Qld: Chamber of Commerce labels ban a knee-jerk reaction

Queensland Premier ANNA BLIGH'S ban on Labor MPs attending fundraising functions with
businesses has sparked an outcry from business leaders.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry president BEATRICE BOOTH says it's a knee-jerk reaction
that'll limit the importance process of networking.

Ms BLIGH has announced the ban .. effective immediately .. after crime fighter TONY
FITZGERALD delivered a scathing review of her government at a conference last week.

He said access to government could be bought .. Labor mates were being appointed to
high-paying positions and retired politicians were exploiting their connections for success
fees.
